About PlanVoyager
We're on a mission to make health insurance understandable and accessible for everyone — not just industry insiders.
Our Mission
Navigating the health insurance marketplace shouldn't require a PhD in insurance jargon. Yet for millions of Americans, choosing a health plan feels overwhelming, confusing, and stressful.
PlanVoyager was built to change that. We take complex insurance data and present it in a way that actually makes sense. We calculate your subsidies using the same formulas the IRS uses — transparently and accurately.
Our AI doesn't make up numbers or guess at eligibility. It explains plans in plain English, helps you understand trade-offs, and empowers you to make confident decisions about your healthcare.
Every year, millions of people leave money on the table because they don't understand their subsidy eligibility. Others choose the wrong plan and end up with surprise bills.
We believe everyone deserves access to clear, accurate information about their healthcare options — not just those who can afford a broker or happen to be insurance experts.
PlanVoyager is our contribution to making healthcare more accessible, one informed decision at a time.
Our Values
These principles guide everything we build.
Our subsidy calculations use official IRS tables and federal guidelines. No AI-generated numbers, no guesswork — just math.
We show our work. Every calculation, every data source, every limitation is documented and explained.
Designed for real people, not insurance experts. We translate complex concepts into plain English.
Built on publicly available CMS data. We believe health insurance information should be accessible to everyone.
How PlanVoyager Works
Behind the simple interface is a robust, transparent system.
We use official plan data published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This includes plan attributes, premium rates, service areas, and benefit details for all ACA marketplace plans.
Our subsidy engine uses the exact formulas from IRS guidelines. We load the official Federal Poverty Level tables and Applicable Percentage tables published in IRS Revenue Procedures. No AI involved in any calculation.
AI (OpenAI or Gemini) is only used to explain plan differences and translate numbers into plain English. It cannot calculate subsidies, estimate costs, or determine eligibility. All AI explanations must cite specific plan attributes.
We don't sell your information to insurance companies or brokers. Your estimate data is processed client-side when possible. We collect minimal analytics to improve the product, and you can use PlanVoyager without creating an account.
